RULE 1

The league & competition shall be called, the West Wickham & District Darts League and be open to teams of men plus a maximum of two women. The team or club being in a five mile radius of The Swan West Wickham.

RULE 2

An annual general meeting to be held at least once a year to elect officers and discuss problems relating to the league. Any team not represented 30 minutes after the notified time of the meeting is liable to be expelled from the league at the meetings discretion. The league to have the following officers:-chairman, secretary, treasurer, results secretary, plus four committee men. Should any officer or committeeman miss two consecutive meetings without notifying the secretary, he or she shall be replaced by a person nominated by the committee. The league committee shall assist the secretary with problems involving the league during the season and be entrusted with the organisation of finals night. Each officer will vacate his or her office at the end of the season and elections for these offices will be made at the annual general meeting.

RULE 3

Each player shall sign a registration form in his own handwriting declaring for which team or club he shall play for during the ensuing season. Knockout competition players must be selected from players registered. Forms to be in the hands of the results secretary on the date indicated in the official registration and to be accompanied by remittance covering the entrance fee of all players so registered. New members may be registered after the first match has been played only with the consent of the secretary. No new member shall be registered after the 31st December in any season.

RULE 4

That all matches shall be played on a pattern board, numbered 1 -20. With doubles and trebles, centre 25 and 50 (see rule 21).

RULE 5

That the board be 5ft.6ins to 5ft.8ins from the floor to the centre and the throw not to be less than 7ft.9.25ins in a plumb line from the centre of the board. Venues must have a fixed oche, a raised oche is preferable but not compulsory.

RULE 6

Away team to throw first in odd games and the home team shall throw first in even games.

RULE 7

That all games shall finish on a double, 50 shall count as double 25.

RULE 8

That a team shall consist of eight players (see rule 10) such players throwing alternatively with their competitors.

RULE 9

League games shall consist one eight 1001, two fours of 701, four pairs of 601, eight singles of 501.the order of play for the pairs and the singles to be drawn after the eights and fours have been played. Two substitutes are allowed after the eights and fours have been played. These must be changed before the draw for the pairs and singles. The score announcer may inform players of the number required but must not announce the double required if owing to the delay in starting the league match, there is not sufficient time to play the whole match, The team having caused the delay shall forfeit the point or points which may be claimed by the opponents. If the delay is caused by both teams then the point or points shall be forfeited by both teams.

RULE 10

That all league games be played on Mondays, the time of play to be 8.30 if owing to the delay in starting a match, there is insufficient time to play all games, the team having caused the delay may be liable t0 forfeit the points for unplayed games and their opponents may apply to the league secretary for these points the committee shall be the final arbiter. where these games remain unplayed due to unforeseen circumstances where these games remain unplayed due to unforeseen circumstances and not due to the fault of either team the match shall stand at the close of play. Any team having less than six players present at 8.45pm shall be considered in default and ten points awarded to the opposing team. Any team receiving a walkover will be credited with a win. Where six or seven players only are present the match shall be played but the incomplete team shall not commence a subsequent round until all players of the opposing team have thrown. Any player or players arriving after the match has started may be allowed to take his or her place in the pairs and the singles but not after the draw for the pairs and singles has been made. The board shall be open to all players by 8.15pm.

RULE 11

The time of play in all competitions shall be 8.15pm. Any player or players not present at starting time stated shall be considered in default and not entered in the draw. All competitions to be played on date stated. Any player or players not present on date stated shall be disqualified.

Team k/o, 1001 best of three legs straight start finish on a double.

Fours k/o, 701 best of three legs straight start finish on a double.

Trio's k/o, 701 best of three legs straight start finish on a double.

Pairs k/o, 601 best of three legs straight start finish on a double.

Singles k/o, 501 best of three legs straight start finish on a double.

If any team is one player short when the match is due to start the team shall play with three players only the incomplete team shall not commence a subsequent round until opponents have completed each round. A team shall not play with two players in the trio's or one player in the pairs, no player having registered for one four shall be permitted to play for any other four except where neither four has played a match. Substitutes will be allowed only in the first round of the fours, trio's and pairs, but not in the singles competition.

RULE 12

Three darts shall constitute a throw, all darts to count in any circumstance. Any dart resting on another dart or darts shall count providing the point of such a dart is touching the board and the score to be counted shall be that of the bed in which the point of the dart is touching the board. In the event of a dart resting through the board wiring, the score to be counted shall be that of the bed in, which the dart enters.

RULE 13

Protests and objections must be lodged with the league secretary within five days of the match.

RULE 14

Each club or team must keep a results book, which must be presented, to the secretary when required.

RULE 15

The committee have the power to suspend any team or club or player guilty in their opinion of willful breach of the rules.

RULE 16

Any team or club playing an ineligible player shall forfeit all points won in the match, ten points will be awarded to the opponents.

RULE 17

No member after signing for one team or club shall be allowed to register or play for any other club or team. Unless a team has dropped out of the league and then only at the discretion of the committee. No member of the league may sign or play for more than one team at a time.

RULE 18

The winners of the championship shall be the holders of the league trophies for twelve months. In the event of any teams tying on points precedence shall be given to the team having won most games. Should any teams tie on both points and games won in third place at the top

or

Bottom of a division shall play off for promotion or relegation where required.

RULE 19

The secretary of the home team shall in all league and team competition games ensure the result card is signed by all players including the visiting team, before the commencement of all games. He must also ensure that the away team secretary checks and signs the result card after the league match. Result cards shall be forwarded immediately after each match by the secretary of the winning team. Home teams must supply result card and envelope. Result cards must reach the results secretary by Thursday after the match. Late cards will incur a three point penalty.

RULE 20

In the event of a club or team ceasing to be a member of the league during the playing season, all points, 100s, 180s, g/s, h/g/s won or conceded by such a club or team shall become void and its record shall be deleted from the league table. The team may not re-enter the league for a minimum of three years and no other team may be allowed to sign more than two players from such a team.

RULE 21

The home team shall insure that the dartboard is in a playable condition.

RULE 22

Any club or house may enter two or more teams, subject to existing vacancies. Each must be treated, as entirely independent and no intermingling of players will be permitted. All new applications are subject to the approval of the annual general meeting.

RULE 23

Team k/o / fours / trio's / pairs / singles:-fees will be decided at the annual general meeting. Secretary’s cup & house cup is incorporated into these competitions.

RULE 24

All entry fees will be decided at the annual general meeting.

RULE 25

The away team shall in all league championship and knock out competition games supply a chalker and the home team shall supply a score announcer.
